ABOUT US
Slow Sauna’s goal is to use the ancient traditions of heat to provide a community space that feels like home; a shift from the modern rat race, to a life of slowness, softening and connection. Wellness is not something to schedule but something to embody. It’s not
about fixing ourselves, but about reconnecting with what’s already whole.

We believe Slow Sauna & Wellness will bring an experience to Lumsden and surrounding areas that not only adds quality of life, wellbeing, and joy to local residents, but provides an experience for visitors to come enjoy the heart of the valley.

SPECIFICS
What?
Where?
Slow Sauna is a small family business starting out as a 8-10 person custom mobile sauna, built with quality and intentionality. The goal is to provide a location in town to allow people to soften the edges of everyday life and reap the multitude of benefits of sauna (heat therapy) and contrast therapy (cold). An online boutique (soon to come) will be offering beautiful quality products ranging from sauna-core (it's a thing) items to wellness products.

We have a home base location in Lumsden, SK. Our mission is to have sauna connected with the outside (nature). A place to be in touch with the sky, earth, and anything in between. Our locations can change depending on availability mostly at River Park (early 2026) and currently are located behind Raised Athletics, 415 James St North. Slow Sauna will be at both locations for the foreseeable future and can also be brought to you! Yes, you! We are a mobile sauna - we can rent out to individuals or businesses wanting to incorporate sauna as part of their overall wellness journey.
When?
We have community sauna sessions at our home base available through the month (see our booking calendar). Private sessions and mobile sauna rentals can be purchased, as requested, depending on availability. Collaborations &/or business rentals available based on interest. Keep an eye on our socials/website, as we plan to have pop-up events moving forward in the New Year. When is doubt, email us at slowsauna@gmail.com and we can discuss further.
Who?
Slow Sauna & Wellness is a small business operated by wife and husband duo, Aimee & Samer, along with their family. We have been living in Lumsden for 4 years and love everything the valley and town have to offer. We want to add to this wonderful community and bring forward a tradition that can be shared for years to come. See 'Our Story' for more about us!

How?
The sauna is heated with a wood fire stove, where the fire heats up the rocks which transmits high heat throughout the sauna. The average temperature is between 75-85 degrees celsius. Water can be poured on the rocks to create a light steam and humidity, this is called 'loyly' (pronounced low-lou). A cold contrast option, either cold plunge and/or shower, will eventually be added in Spring/Summer. For the upcoming Fall/Winter – our cold contrast option will be the Saskatchewan cold weather or lake (if utilizing in a different area). A sitting out/relaxing area consisting of chairs, fire pit, lights, drink station (teas/water) is available.
